Major General Aristotelis Priovolos, 

DIRECTOR OF THE FINANCIAL AUDIT DIRECTORATE OF THE HELLENIC NATIONAL DEFENCE GENERAL STAFF

Major General Aristotelis Priovolos has been appointed Director of the Financial Audit Directorate of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff since the 2nd of March 2021. He was born in Mesologgi, Greece, on 17th of February 1968.

He joined the Hellenic Military Academy in 1986 and graduated in 1990 as a Second Lieutenant. In 2003, he was selected to join the Auditing Corps of the Hellenic Army General Staff, starting his career as Financial Auditor. During the same year, he was promoted to Major and was assigned in the Audit Directorate of the Supreme Military Administration of Interior and Islands. In 2006, he was appointed to the Audit Directorate of the Hellenic Army General Staff, as Financial Auditor, where he moreover served as Deputy Director since 2014. In 2016, he was promoted to Colonel and served as Director of the Audit Directorate of Supreme Military Army Support Administration. In 2017, he joined the Joint Corps of Financial Auditors of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, whose mission is the organization, implementation and operation of the financial audits and internal controls in the Armed Forces, as well as the prevention, investigation and suppression of financial crimes against the economic and financial interests of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense. In 2018 he was assigned the duties of Director of the 1st Regional Unit of Financial Auditing of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff. In 2019 he was promoted to Brigadier General and appointed to the Financial Audit Directorate of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff as Deputy Director, where he still serves as a Director since 2021. In 2022 he was promoted to Major General and assumed the duties of Director of the Financial Audit Directorate of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff.

Major General Aristotelis Priovolos is a graduate of the Department of Economic and Regional Development of Panteion University of Athens and a holder of a postgraduate master Diploma in “Applied Economics and Finance with specialization in Public Auditing" of the Department of Economic Sciences of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is an active member of the Institute of Internal Control Systems (IIC) and has been nominated for the Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA) and Certified Controls Specialists (CCS) certifications.
